All in Energy and the City of Cambridge have teamed up to save renters energy and money through state and utility incentive programs, starting with a no-cost virtual home energy assessment! As a renter you can get access to energy-savings programs that can help you upgrade your apartments and buildings and reduce your energy bills – all at no-cost and without anyone coming into your home until it is safe.

Renters do not need to involve their landlords to receive benefits from Massachusetts energy efficiency programs!

As a renter in a 1-4 unit building, you can receive:

  • LED light bulbs to replace incandescent light bulbs
  • High efficiency shower heads
  • Smart thermostats
  • All shipped directly to your door and at no cost to you.

Limited Time Opportunity!

Renter-occupied units in 1-4 unit buildings are eligible for 100% off the cost of approved weatherization (air sealing and insulation). This is a great opportunity for landlords to complete weatherization for their buildings at no-cost for each renter-occupied unit.

How does it work?

To start, we encourage you to request a Virtual No-Cost Home Energy Assessment. The assessment is performed by a Mass Save® home performance contractor.

All you need is a phone, the technology to do a video chat and/or send photos of the home over email, and access to your building or apartment to install eligible energy-saving measures.

Renter-Occupied Units 100% Incentive

Renter-occupied units are now eligible for a 100% incentive for weatherization work (air sealing and insulation) completed in their unit for the foreseeable future. This is a great opportunity for landlords to complete weatherization for their buildings at no-cost for each renter-occupied unit.

2-4 Unit Whole Building 100% Incentive

The Whole Building Incentive has been updated from 90% to 100% off approved insulation. This applies to upgrades for all units within a 2-4 unit building that is renter-occupied. If just one of the units moves forward with weatherization updates and that unit happens to be landlord-occupied, then the unit will receive the 75% incentive rather than the limited time 100% offer.

To receive additional low-to-no cost energy efficiency measures such as insulation, air sealing, or heating/cooling upgrades, connect your landlord with All In Energy during your assessment sign up.

The energy assessments are provided at no cost through the Mass Save program®. You have contributed to these programs through an “energy efficiency” charge on your monthly utility bills. These energy upgrades will make your home more comfortable and offer you long-term savings.

Getting a no-cost energy assessment for your apartment is a limited-time opportunity!
