Host “e” inc. at your school at no-cost through a partnership with the City of Cambridge.
What is “e” inc.?
“e” inc. provides elementary-aged students with a hands-on science learning experience to explain their knowledge on Earth’s beings, biomes, systems, and resources along with the skills needed to protect the planet and to live sustainably. Sponsored by the City’s Cambridge Energy Alliance, these programs help young learners understand science and connect it to environmental impacts.
How does it work?
The two topics you can choose this year are either Climate Change or Zero Waste. Whichever you choose, classes in grades 2 to 5 at your site will receive 8 lessons on your chosen topic. These lessons will be remote but will have various hands-on components built-in to each visit, so children can have a variety of experiences weekly.
At the end of the 8-weeks, your kids can begin a set of 10 tasks in the classroom or at home that will help your site be: Green! All the children take part – whether they are learning in-person or remotely. The goal is for the students to use the science ideas they have learned with “e” inc. to then work to Green their classroom and/or home.
These are great lessons and your children will especially love taking environmental action and seeing that they are making a difference!
If you are interested in adding more science to your classes in grades 2 to 5, and in having your students take on modest, ongoing environmental actions to green their home and school, sign up here or contact Ricky Stern (below) to discuss the program and your involvement.
