NO COST Energy Assessment (5+ Units)
Residences with 5 or more dwelling units can sign up for the NO COST MassSave Multi-Family Assessment. Utilizing a “whole facility” approach, the Multi-Family Assessment focuses on your facility’s thermal envelope (shell insulation and air leakage conditions for units heated by natural gas or electricity) as well as lighting and mechanical systems. In-unit savings potential for tenants is also assessed.
The following improvements may be eligible for Mass Save incentives:
- Energy efficient lighting upgrades & controls
- Occupancy sensors
- Water Heating equipment
- Domestic hot water measures: low-flow showerheads, aerators, and pipe wrap
- Programmable thermostats
- Insulation
- Air sealing
- High-efficiency heating and cooling equipment upgrades and controls
- ENERGY STAR® qualified refrigerators and other eligible appliances
- Other energy improvements determined on a site-specific basis
Because this program is designed to treat the entire facility it is important for tenants or condominium residents to work with their condo association or property manager to enroll in the program. Scheduling the entire facility and all units together greatly enhances the audit process. To sign up, fill out CEA’s Residential Energy Assessment form and be sure to select “NO COST Multi-Family MassSave Assessment (5+ units)” under Type of Assessment.
